I have found that one secret to a healthy lifestyle is about finding balance. Sometimes it’s about digging for grit, like my post on Monday about being awesome and pushing yourself past a bad mood on a cranky Monday.
Other times it’s about saying “I am completely overwhelmed and I just need to step back to regroup.” Then give yourself permission to exactly that without regrets. Just let yourself reschedule it, or even completely let go of things that simply don’t matter.
You might even look at letting someone else help with errands or other tasks that are filling up your busy schedule. This could be a friend who has volunteered or hiring someone to do the task if this is a consistent thing that over schedules you. Accepting help is a perfectly okay space to be! You really truly do not have to be the one to do it all. I’m giving you permission here and now (if you need that sort of thing) to let go of at least one thing today that simply does not matter.
Most days, we will actually just find ourselves in the in between balanced space where we just juggle it and it all somehow works itself out. Life really does have a funny way of working itself out, doesn’t it? The space where we juggle and sometimes step back and other times push ourselves is just life working itself out, and us finding balance for that to happen. Where do you find yourself today?
Being a Mom and working a home business and the thousand other things I need to get done can all become draining to my energy if I’m not careful. This is where a rest and recharge time can be so helpful! What are ways you can better balance your overall lifestyle? Do you take a day occasionally to just take care of you? Even just setting aside an hour or two will be beneficial to your overall state of health and well being.
When I take time to rest and recharge, I find that lavender is a wonderful oil to use. It is very relaxing in aroma and calming for that over-scheduled feeling in our busy lifestyle. Lavender is also supportive to overall immune system health. We all know how important it is to maintain a healthy immune system!
What are the ways you help yourself find balance? Do you enjoy writing in a journal or some other quiet reflective activity? Or are you more a person to get outside and do something active, like going for a run? Maybe you love to cook, maybe there is a craft you enjoy, or you just love to mindlessly play video games.
Whatever makes you feel happy and is best for you to relax, is what you should do on a recharge day. I personally enjoy journaling, reading, photography, or simply quiet time with my family.
