Using Essential Oils For Grief
Using essential oils for grief is a powerful way to help yourself overcome a loss naturally. I’ve been using essential oils to deal with my own feelings of loss. Essential oils don’t take away the process of grieving. But they do help ease feelings around the loss. They are comforting when comfort is much needed. I’m going to share a few oils that have been helping me deal with the loss of dear friends and family members this past year. Using essential oils for grief is powerful!
There is no one size fits all for grief and loss. But I recommend giving essential oils a try. doTERRA oils have been a beautiful comfort to me in times of grief. When you’re struggling with grief, it becomes an emotional crisis. You will find using essential oils for grieving to be a great help to you during this difficult time.
doTERRA Console Blend For Grief
doTERRA’s Console blend has been most helpful to me for feelings of fresh grief. The aroma is both consoling and comforting. Console is the first oil I reach for when using essential oils for grief.
I have lost several close friends and family members. Each time, Console has helped me get through the funeral and surrounding events. The aroma is grounding and a balm to my your heart. I put a little Console oil on my sweater right before my Grandmother’s funeral. It soothed me to smell it through that very difficult day. You can use Console topically or aromatically for your feelings of grief.
Jasmine oil, doTERRA Ylang Ylang & doTERRA Lavender
An immediate loss comes with many tears. This is natural and healthy. It is good to cry, and release our emotions. However, sometimes we really get crying and it can be hard to stop. Or you just want to get through the funeral without so many tears in front of everyone. Then you want to think about the essential oils to use for grief. Using essential oils for grieving will help you soothe your tears for a little while.
I get it. It’s so hard, and sometimes you’d like your grief to be a bit more private. For deep crying, and calming tears, I suggest either Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, or Lavender essential oils. I love to put the oils into a warm bath and soak. This is a very soothing way of using essential oils for grief. Alternately, apply over the heart, or to your hands. Inhale.
Jasmine oil is especially wonderful, and you can put the Jasmine TOUCH on topically. I suggest using over your heart to soothe your feelings of grief and sadness. Jasmine essential oil is one of my favorites when using essential oils for grief.

doTERRA Elevation Blend For Grief
As you get further away from the funeral, life goes back to normal routines. But there will still be periods when you feel sorrow. This is very normal. Grieving takes time and you should continue using essential oils for grief. I suggest diffusing Elevation blend each morning to assist with these occasional sad feelings.
Allow yourself the time you need to grieve your loss. Using essential oils for grief is an assist, but not a shortcut to the natural emotional process of grief. There is no timeline you need to stick to. Remember you are exactly where you need to be.
Elevation blend is comforting and uplifting but allows the natural grieving process to happen. Apply topically over the heart to carry this beautiful fragrance with you throughout your day.
doTERRA Deep Blue Blend For Loss
When thinking about using essential oils for grief, you might ask, “What about old sorrows from the past?” This is another way of using essential oils for healing a sense of loss. Deep Blue blend assists with releasing feelings of old or deep grief. This is a fantastic oil to work with when using essential oils for hurts from the past. Diffusing Deep Blue allows a deep level of release around old feelings of loss and grieving.
