Grow Your Essential Oils Business By Marketing It
You have an essential oils business. And now you want it to be successful. Congratulations… I do, too! The FIRST valuable lesson I learned, is to understand that this IS a business. And like any other business, you DO need to be the marketing engine behind it!
Maybe you don’t know how to market your oils business? Neither did, I, actually. But you can dig into learning how marketing works (there are tons of free resources out there). No one is selling oils by passively posting on a Facebook page anymore. They aren’t selling oils by spamming their friends. No… they’re selling oils and being successful because they are getting out there and actively marketing it, just like any other business would.
Marketing does not mean spamming, let’s be VERY clear. Good marketing is strategic, it’s speaking to the right person, at the right time, with the right message. And if we’re talking about online marketing… then you can begin to talk to hundreds, or even thousands of the right type of people, at the right time, with the right message… it’s amazing. And every day I try to learn more about marketing my own doTERRA essential oils business online!
Grow Your Essential Oils Business & Network Through Events
Events bring groups of people together. That’s why they can be so powerful to help you build your essential oils business network. You can find events in person, and online. Or if you’re savvy, you’ll even create your own events!
In person event ideas include craft fairs, vendor events, neighborhood shows, and more. The events could be large or small. But the idea is to simply get in front of new people with the oils.
Online event ideas can be as simple as a Facebook party that you create and invite people to attend. Or as complicated as a large multi-vendor event that takes place through an online channel. So you are only limited to your own imagination when it comes to growing your essential oils business with events!
Grow Network Through Public Social Media Channels
So this comes up a lot! How to grow your essential oils business online. There are many places to be online, we can think about the different social media platforms, and chances are you could find an audience there. But I want to give you a nugget! As much as possible, you want to grow your essential oils business through PUBLIC social media channels. Now I know that can be a bit intimidating, but you need to follow my logic here.
No matter how amazing your social media posts may be. Even if you’re doing all the right things and making them witty, funny engaging, or informational… if no one is seeing them, then no one is going to buy from you. The FIRST step to selling your essential oils, is to have an audience to sell them to.
No one is going to “find you” and therefore find your essential oils products, if you don’t have a public social media presence. Read that again. It goes back to what I was teaching you at the beginning of this blog article. Part of marketing in the online world, is getting your presence out there in a public way, so they can find you through search engines like Google, Pinterest, and even YouTube!
Grow Oils Business Through Networking and Collaborating
The friend of my friend… is someone who I usually find a bit of common ground with. Wouldn’t you agree? I mean, we both like our friend, so we obviously share great taste! And with that factored in, we’re more trusting of those people who have been introduced to us by a good friend. It helps us establish a relationship from a more natural place. Once you have a relationship going, then it becomes a natural extension of the relationship for an opportunity to come up where you can help them with essential oils.
One of the most common ways to grow an essential oil business is through networking and collaborating with people that we already know. But we might not know their friend, yet. And their friend… might also need essential oils in his or her life. So you can actively grow your network, by asking for referrals, by collaborating with friends who sell to a similar audience (ideal client type).
