Sun Tea Recipe
To be honest, I feel a little silly even calling this a recipe! Making your tea is so simple that you will quickly memorize these steps. If you’ve ever made homemade iced tea, this recipe is very similar!
Sun Tea Ingredients:
You really only need 5 “ingredients”. Those five ingredients even include the container to make your sweet tea in!
- 6-8 black tea bags (I use Lipton brand)
- 1 cup organic sugar
- Glass pitcher
- Cold water
- Sunshine!
Sun Tea Directions:
- Fill your glass pitcher with cold water.
- Put in the tea bags.
- Cover so bugs don’t take a sip (or a dip)!
- Place in a sunny spot, outside!
- Brew for 6-8 hours.
- Add organic sugar.
- Stir well to dissolve sugar.
- Bring inside, chill.
- Add ice if desired, and enjoy!
To make sugar-free tea, simply leave out the sugar or use your regular sugar substitute. It will still taste wonderful!
Fun Flavor Suggestions
For an added flavor, try adding a few drops of pure doTERRA essential oils to your sweet sunny tea! Some ideas include lemon, Spearmint, or wild orange essential oil. Add your oils at the same time as the organic sugar, and stir well. Note: Never ingest an essential oil without a supplement facts label.
