Why Use A Natural Solution For Ants?
We are exposed to many toxins on a daily basis. There are certainly toxic options out there to get rid of ants in your garden and yard. We aren’t arguing their effectiveness. But would you want to spray toxins in your garden, of all places? Or even into your yard where it can leach down into your water? You walk across that yard in your bare free. And your kids and your pets roll around in it. So of course, you wouldn’t! Especially when there is a safe natural alternative for ant pest control. That’s why I’m sharing how to get rid of ants naturally. With zero toxins.
Natural Ant Repellent Spray Ingredients
This is going to kind of blow you away because it’s so simple. To make your own natural ant killer, you really only need 4-5 “ingredients”.
- Large spray bottle
- Lavender essential oil
- Peppermint essential oil
- A willing helper to spray down the garden for you! (Nice, but totally optional. However, my 6-year-old had a ball with this step.)
How To Make Natural Ant Repellent Spray
First, you will get your clean empty spray bottle.
Second, you will fill your spray bottle 3/4 full with water.
Third, add 20-30 drops each of lavender and peppermint essential oils.
Last, but not least! Put your spray top on the bottle and shake gently.
The Natural Way To Get Rid Of Ants
Once you have created the above recipe for natural ant repellent, let’s get to work. The natural way to get rid of ants is to spray directly on existing ant hills. You will want to soak the ant hill. This natural solution for ants using essential oils is highly effective around our Pennsylvania home! We have found that sometimes it takes a few applications. And each time there will be fewer hills to contend with.

Absolutely. You may use this recipe safely in your garden. The oils will not harm your plants. You can use it for a natural treatment for ants in the lawn, too. In the beginning, we had many ant hills. But now there is less every time she sprays the area. I used the same recipe last summer, and after several applications, the ants were gone!
