Social media engagement. Have you heard of it? I have to admit, the lingo of attraction marketing and social media for direct sales sounded a little odd to me, at first! Social media engagement is one of those terms.
What Is Social Media Engagement?
First of all, no one’s getting married. We are actually talking about how many people are participating and commenting on the posts you put on your social media platforms. A social media platform, for example, would be Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. And engagement on a post means the post has any type of interaction. Facebook “Likes”, an Instagram heart, a comment, or a share is social media engagement. In the blogging world, a click through to read your post is a great example. Engagement on posts means your content is interesting and fun! Active social engagement indicates a happy audience!
Why Use Graphics Targeted To Increase Social Engagement?
Next, let’s talk about why we want to use targeted graphics to increase engagement. We would all love to think our own content is enough. Your product is pretty awesome. We are pouring our heart into writing our blogs! However, as a direct seller, we need to be careful that we aren’t “talking product” all the time. Always seeing product posts in a newsfeed can be off-putting. Mix it up! Targeted engagement posts are a great way to do this. As a bonus, engagement posts help “behind the scenes” with the algorithms of various social media platforms.

Lastly, social engagement posts will help your customer relationships. Why? Because you are providing them with a simple value called entertainment!
Engagement Post Idea List
Here are some ideas to try!
- Are you Team Pink or Team Purple?
- Share a photo and ask your audience to “Caption This”
- Are you a daisies or roses kind of girl?
- Who else has a plastic bag full of other plastic bags at their house?
- What’s your favorite winter memory?
- What are you most excited for this week?
- How many days old is your limit for eating leftovers?
- Ask your audience to share “Words to live by…”
- Post an old photo on #ThrowbackThursday, and encourage your audience to share their own!
- Would you rather shop until you drop, or stay at home?
- Post about what your vision is for “a year from now”, and ask your audience about their own dreams.
- Winter. Fan, or not a fan?
Examples Of Social Media Engagement Graphics
Third, it’s time to explore examples. Great social media posts aren’t complicated. These posts will create interaction in your online community. Have you noticed this Facebook status post lately from any of your friends?
Please let this get weird…. Upload the 3rd photo in your phone in my comments. No matter what it is (keep it clean). No cheating! Then copy and paste this as your status with the number I give you. And go….! 😂
The above post is currently ALL over Facebook, and for two reasons. It’s entertaining and provides connection! Everyone comes to social media to be entertained and to feel a connection with other people. When you provide posts that are entertaining, your audience loves to engage! This type of post gives your Facebook audience a sense of sitting down and thumbing through your phone pictures together. In turn, that creates a connection. A connection is an additional element we are looking for with social media engagement.
